  • Align gp750 with futaba 8fg setup help.

Hey guys, back again to ask another setup question.lol. I have just purchased a second hand trex 450 pro, and need help setting up the gyro. My receiver should be with me tomorrow, along with a few lipos, but can not work out how to set a rate mode and heading hold mode on my tx. I am using a futaba 8fg, I understand the setup procedure, its like the 3gx unit, but how do I setup the sensitivity? And assign a switch to flick between the 2?

To set rate and heading hold double tap MDL. This will open the MODEL menu. Then tap S1 to get to the second screen and select GYRO. Tap once on RUD. This opens the rudder menu screen. Select SW and #1 and make sure the the function is ON (not INH). Then designate a switch (I use SF for rate/heading hold). Type is GY and AVCS (which is heading hold mode). The rate % means % gain. Adjust this to get a good hold without wag.

To set rate mode select #2 and go through the same sequence as we just did for AVCS but this time select GY NORM.

You should now be able to toggle between normal and AVCS using your allocated switch.

Hope that makes sense. It's actually much easier in practice.

    Cheers

To help with finding the right gain you can also setup the fine tune (bottom part of the gyro screen) on one of the levers on the bottom of the radio, the number between < and > is the attual amount output, when you find the correct number for your setup you can fix this in the gain setting and turn fine tune back off.

            Hi guys,
I've got the same situation, 8FG with a gp750, I've just followed Pete's instructions and it's worked well! But when I flick to normal mode, the tail goes to full left. I move my rudder stick to the right and it moves fully right, but when I release the stick the tail moves back into the full left position, do you know why this might be happening.

Dan mine does that on he 600 but it only does it on the ground, I don't have any issues with it once the Heli is in the air. It did almost catch me out when I first flew it as I wasn't expecting it
