  • Fut S9351 or DS610

I have both these sets of servos and I'm currently using the S9351. Would there be any advantage in using the Aligns over the Futaba. I read the Aligns suck a little more juice. They will go on the n5 with BeastX.
Which ever set I wont use will get sold so just wondering if its worth swapping or stick with the Futabas.

The real question is whether you need the extra speed of the aligns. The futaba ones are going to be a way better servo quality and as you identify the aligns do pull amps when changing direction fast or binding. FBL will drag more juice too so you have to look at regulators as well

I have the ElyQ reg, I added it a while ago. More speed would be nice tbh. I basically get one flight with the Outrage 3600mAh pack I have until the amber light is left showing, I sometimes fly it lightly when its like that as I havent sorted on site charging yet.
So Im thinking perhaps using the Aligns as it doesn't really matter for now trying to get 2 flights out of the rx pack.

One flight out of a 3,600 pack with a 50 size heli??? Something's not right there. I use 2,600 rx packs on my FBL 700 with DS610's and I do 4 flights on a pack (I don't really fly over 6 minutes per flight though). I reckon I'm being pretty conservative as well -sure I could do more than 4 flights.

Ive always thought that. To be honest I need to work out how much i'm putting back into the pack rather than watching the LEDS. Also the ball links are still very stiff and need to free them soon.

I've burned as much as 850ma out of a pack on my beastx 600n in a tank.. so your usage figures shouldn't be any higher. If that's the align reg you're using then I also found some seem to show amber way early. ElyQ is the cheap answer I chose for my 600. Griffon for my blitz.

The LEDs are poor at best.

Fully charge the pack, have a flight, charge the pack up to see how much Mah you have taken from it.

Then do the math to leave you with 20% of the packs capacity.

Will do that next time . Need to sort the problem I have with it now .

Also ive just bought 2x 5000mAh batts so they should last me a few flights .

thanks for the help. Just need to work out which servos to use now lol.

My DS 610 are the best servos I've got. I'm running them straight from a 2s LiPo in the 600.
On V-bar, the heli usually draws slightly less than 400 mAh during one flight. A 2s 2200 mAh LiPo is probably ideal

Use a computer charger, and watch the charge it's putting back. Those numbers are accurate. I would use on-board battery indicators only as additional info, not rely on them.

I always mean to keep a track on what I put back into the rx pack so only got myself to blame. I think it explains my lack of desire to fly. traveling 45 mins in all, for 2 flights. To be honest I always forget to check the rx pack for mAh I put back in usually just the one 500 pack I have. Man if I get more flights on the n5 per day than before, then i'm starting to like flying again lol.

I'm not sure how relevant it is but the 9351, whilst a very good servo, is not recommended for anything other than car/boat use. I understand they tend to be very jumpy around centre. A quick search will show you what I mean.
