My dad has been fighting an unstable tail on his Trex 600N for weeks. The tail would twitch constantly and drift counter-clockwise during each and every flight. Thinking that the rudder servo was failing after two years of abuse he changed it but the tail still twitched. 
Every part of the heli was slowly checked, tweaked or changed to find the fault but nothing ever helped....... until last weekend. He took apart his gyro (JR 770T) to find that the internal circuit boards had become loose. He secured the two circuit boards with Zap-a-goo which solved the problem and now his a happy man.
At least you'll be able to practice your crack hovering now Dad!!!
