  • pro 450 build help - servo centre

    hey guys,
i'm building a 450 pro clone.... the Tarot

once i've secured my servos into the head block (which i've removed) and before i put block back into frame... i apparently need to centre the servo and then secure servo arms at 90 degree.

do i just connect the 3 servos and battery via esc to my Rx and let servos autocentre....like they would each time you bind Tx to Rx for flight ?

    thanks

Do you have a 4.8v receiver battery at all? If so you can simply connect that and your servos directly to your receiver, after you have turned your transmitter on and ensured that all trims and sub trims are at centre.

Is this your first build? If so, and it is a true 450Pro clone, check Finless Bob's build videos here.

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

try to centre the arms on the splines using as little or no subtrim (sometimes just trying a diffrent arm will allow it to fit straighter @90)
sub trim can be used on the cyclics but your better to get it set better mechanically first

Do one at a time ! Set your normal pitch on your transmitter to 50% across, this way you dont have to keep checking the sticks centre etc. Then plug in one servo and centre that, connect the arm so it centre and then unplug it. Do this for all three servo's

THANKS EVERYONE.....yes my first build. bought new Dx6i for it...not used yet but read instructions.

                right, so i :

on Tx - select my model number/name (already done - Tarot 450) and via the adjust menu :

centre my sticks (so thats cyclic and throttle/rudder sticks..i'm mode 2) with all trims and subtrims at centre... save and turn Tx off.

connect 1 servo at a time to Rx (power via battery & esc) and then turn Tx on and once i connect battery will bind to Rx....servo should autocentre - attach the arm so its 90 and disonnect battery

do for each servo . i can do this later for tail servo too.

watched finless bobs vids plus many others.

whats the 50% rule thing ? if my throttle is centred wont my pitch be 0 (once i've set it up later) ??

Hi Scuba, the 50% rule means setting your normal pitch to 50% so when you set your servos to centre position if the stick is knocked you know that the sevo is still centre etc. When you have finished your servo setup and pitches to "0 degrees" then return them to linear etc. Finless Bob on Helifreak shows you how this is done ! As its difficult to explain but I hope Ive helped.

thanks bob....do you agree with my last post...does it look a correct way to centre those servos ?

so i set all 5 pitch curve points to 50% on the Tx..in normal mode, i.e. position 0 and not 1 (idle up) ?

can you remember which finless bob video covers that,
                    then i can take a look ?

                    cheers for your help

Here we go mate ! Trex 450 Pro build videos - HeliFreak follow this and you cant go wrong its worth downloading them and saving them in a file. the principles apply to most heli's.
You only need to appply the 50% rule to the normal pitch curve ! Just remember to set them back to linear after youve set your servo's up and the pitch at 0 degress at midstick. Good luck if you need any more help give me a shout !
