JR MP80G Brushless Tail Servo

Just got one of these new JR tail servos today to go in the T Rex 700N.

Looks like the same spec as the old DS8900G except very slightly deeper and brushless.

Any one else tried one to see what they're like?

Just installed the servo in place of my faulty DS8900 G and straight away noticed a problem.

A very high frequency vibe around about mid stick on the TX.

I`m using a Mikado V bar on the heli and have not changed any settings from the previous servo - It should be the same.

That would be bad luck if it was faulty straight out of the box.

I`ve stepped down the 5.11v coming out of the V bar/regulator to 4.36v using an Align 5.1v inline regulator and the noise and vibes have gone.

The servos are rated at the usual 4.8v.

Looking OK now with speed Ok but surely these new brushless servos can`t be that voltage critical

These should be able to be run from a fully charged 4.8v nicad/nimh pack. Which would be nearer to 5.7v. Is there any frequency settings on the vbar, like there is on the beastx?

Yeah there are - according to Mikado the servo needs to be on the same setting as the DS8900G - which it is.
