  • Best yet cheapest servos for .50 size?

    I've been toying around with the idear of converting my raptor 30 to a 50 and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what servos I should get?

    I don't really want to spend megabucks on servos and the like as I'm also thinking about getting a new heli next year, but if do go for the conversion I wanted to get some cheap yet reliable servos.

    Also whats the lowest torque rating you can get away with for servos on a .50/600 size, would something around 6 kg/cm be suitable or would it be best to get something with a bit more grunt?

    Cheers,

    Tom

      Align ds610s are fine
      I left the hobby 3 years ago and discovered Women.

      I wish I never left.

            I've just got some standard sanwa servos on the 30 at the moment, I think there only rated at about 3kg torque so don't think they'd do for a .50, there probably only just strong enough for the 30 hehe...

                    i got 3 of these ;

                    HobbyKing Online R/C Hobby Store : Turnigy 620DMG+HS High Torque Digital Servo (MG) 10.6kg / .13sec / 52g

                    i rate them highly.

                    turnigy also do some HV servos now so wonder what they will be like here;
                    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=9985

                    all seem to get cracking reviews.

                    steer clear of towerpro or towerdpro as they are shit.

                      Everyone needs to remember that this isn't a heli that needs 3 strong servos for eCCPM, with the Raptors mechanical mixing one good one on the pitch and a fast one on the tail with 3152's elsewhere will be just fine.

                        Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. It seems most people are saying get ds610's, I suppose if I did get them I could use them in a future heli too. Only problem is I didn't really want to spend that much

                        Has anyone else had experience with hobbyking/turnigy servos like the ones maderdog_1024 suggested. I wouldn't want to get this coversion all nice and then a servo or two fail in flight lol!! I definitely wouldn't be a happy bunny!

                        Cheers,

                        Tom

                          Power HD DS090's are a good servo, im running them in a few hacks (Gaui 425 and a TZ 3d Frenzy 50 and a few planks no issues so far, 10kg metal digital and .10 60 on 6v £15 quid from hk) did some research on the web first and seem to be reliable.
                          Trying to progress not getting very far.......
