  • DS610 or BLS451?

    Hey all,

I know the BLS451 is a higher quality servo but does it warrant the extra cost? I was going to get 3xDS610 to replace the S3152 in my 600N, but I thought about getting some BLS451s for my vision 50 comp and and using the DS610s from that in the 600N.

Should I just buy DS610s or give the BLS451s a go?

    I'd be looking at £120 for 3x DS610 vs ~£200for 3xBLS451.

Bearing in mind I'm still learning basic 3D and sports - is it actually worth getting the high speed and torque servos? I will be converting my Vision 50 to FBL with beastX so I can imagine the BLS451s would come in handy then?

    Cheers!
    Harry

Tried both didn't like 610 servo's, now i'll only use 451 servo's as i like the feel of them.

On the plus side 451 servo's are a great for a FBL I'd say it's the most used servo for a V Bar.

Yup like 5exi, I don't rate the 610's either, they are power hungry servos and somewhat noisy, probably due to poor centering? Definitely go for the 451's dude, they will be great for FBL.

whilst the 610 is a great servo for the money yes really i mean what else can you get as good for that price ? not much!
Given the choice again now id take the 451's.
i still cant understand why people say 610's are power hungry??? There pretty efficent servos 4-5 flights from a 1900mah pack only puts back around 1000mah i think sometimes it may be there buzzing etc is taken as sucking juice.
There "bad" point for me is the centering is bnot brilliant but then its better than average foe a servo of that price.

Harry have you looked at MKS at all?

I am using MKS bls 950's on cyclics on a FBL 50 electric:
          • Operating Voltage: 4.0 ~ 6.0 V DC Volts
          • Operating Speed (4.8V): 0.14 sec/60° degrees at no load
          • Operating Speed (6.0V): 0.12 sec/60° degrees at no load
          • Stall Torque (4.8V): 9.2 kg.cm (127.8 oz/in)
          • Stall Torque (6.0V): 11.5 kg.cm (159.7 oz/in)
          • Gear Type: Titanium Gears

Got mine from HERE not listed but they have them.

So far they are running great

Cool cheers all. Are the MKS servos much cheaper than the futabas? I'm on my iphone with low signal otherwise I'd check.

I need a tail servo for my 600n to replace the s9254 (not keen on it) - should I get a ds650 or look at something else?

Ouch. Will have to pass on the mks then haha. Don't really want to have spend more than £60 ish per servo, as really 610s will do - I just want something decent ready for the FBL.

                Are these any good?

Savox make align servos. These are good, but I'm in the same boat as you and I cant help but keep coming back to 610s - as with a lot of align gear, you really cant beat them for the money!

                    610 for me.

PS if you want to have a laugh, read this thread (it's old news - I guess they have figured out the problem by now. Given the way they handled this, my trust in Futaba hasn't been restored yet, and their pathetic spectrum bashing videos don't exactly help, either )

They seem to have changed their minds since then.. On the latest charts they state they are. Rated to 8V and suitability for heli use..

Harry: have you thought about the new Spektrum servos.. They are comparable to the Align and have the support of Horizon behind them

Those Turnigys look really interesting, but they are still dearer than ds610s...

No easy answers it seems as MKS don't rate their own servos as suitable for FBL use so I imagine that also applies to the rebranded Turnigys :

We are R/C hobby expert makes in Taiwan

Of course this may just be a way to sell more of the new servo they are releasing for FBL use ...
