  • Zero Alpha Governor - Advise needed

    Hello to all ,

Im trying to set up a zero alpha with a DX7, so far set up with 100/100
end points on throttle, Linear throttle curve 0,25,50,75,100 trim set mid point. Zero Alpha is activated in my gear channell switch on DX7, gear channell end points set -100/+100. Device select Aux2 to Gyro , and Gear to Gear.
Ive callibrated the unit no problem, switch heli on in un lock mode, LED blinks and goes solid red, rotate fan, and light goes out as per the manual,

Set lock mode blinks to 11, which is around which is 10,500 for first blink, plus 500 rpm for next 10 blinks, giving target rpm of 15,500 rpm, model is a raptor 50 titan with 8.5 gear ratio, so im looking for 1800 headspeed.
    TT53 redline motor.

I then adjust my throttle curve to roughly what i was flying at without the
governor, as im looking to hold an accurate headspeed, when i hover and flip into lock mode, it will not lock onto the headspeed at all.

Can anyone verify that my set up from above is correct would be a starting point for me. Although still a basic flyer im interested in understanding these things for future.

    Piper.

    Anyone,,,?

Pulled sensor out, cleaned head, re-adjusted to different settings, 1=4mm, cannot get it to set.
Tried setting gear to inh, and using a PRog mix....No Joy.

OK i was ready to order another Governor, but decided to strip out engine for a clean, including fan, re-set sensor length to 1.5mm from magnet, re adjusted the sensor so its flat with magnet. Re programmed, and now i have head speed locked, through my gear channel.
Had to drop percentages abit from the alpha zero RPM chart.

But the main thing is its doing its job.

Motto for the day - Only trust youre own build work never assume.

      I love the zero alpha....!!!!!!!

Next step setting program mixes, wish me luck..!!!!!
