  • Assen GA410 and digital servo

I recently bought a Flasher 450CF ARTF kit which came equipped with an Assan GA410 gyro and four 9g generic analogue servos. I immediately discarded the stock servos for a set of Savox SH0257-MGs. The set up is almost complete except I am struggling to set the throw on the rudder servo. The Tx and Rx are a Spektrum DX6i and AR6100, if that makes a difference.

With the Assen limit pot set to the maximum (240) and the sevo limits set to 125% in both directions on the Dx6i, I only get about half the throw needed to move the tail slider between it's extents.

Last night I tried a HK401 gyro as a test and the slider was able to move the entire range between the extents.

The Assan documentation is not exactly extensive. It does not mention explicitly whether the Gyro is compatible with digital servos. So I was wondering whether that was the problem and I should give up on the Assan, or whether there is something wrong with Gyro I have or the way I am trying to set it up.

    Any help appreciated.

Just heard back from Phoenixtech that the GA410 definitely does not support digital servos - not to be confused with the Assan GA410PRO (which does). So that's another chunk of useless plastic for my spares box

Phoenixtech have suggested the GT500 but another £40 for another no-name gyro is too dear for me. I am going to see how I get on with the HK401B for the moment. Seems odd that Phoenixtech even bother with the GA410 when the GT500 is advertised at exactly the same price.
