  • JR servo questions...

I picked up a heli with electronics recently but it's all JR stuff and I'm not familiar with it as much as Futaba/Spektrum.

    First question is:
The heli has DS 8231s on the cyclic, a DS 589 on the throttle and a G7000T gyro with NES8700G tail servo.
The cyclic servos are 4.8 or 6 volt and the rest is 4.8 volt only. I was going to fit an Align 2 in 1 which has a 5.8v regulated output. Will the gyro, tail and throttle servos be happy on a regulated 5.8v?

Second question is I need a new horn for the tail servo - can you get the horn pack separately? A search of the usual sites hasn't revealed anything.

    Thanks
    Cheers, Lee.

I wouldn't advise using the 4.8v servos on 5.8v. I know that a fully charged nicad is 5.8 however it may be better to regulate with a spektrum regulator or by using a different reg to the Align

JR horns are available separately. At least in their catalogue.

i've bought jr servo horns from midland helicopters in the past

i run a flight power regulator at 5.2/5.3 volts (it can be adjusted to whatever output you want) on the futaba servos rated at 4.8v and i've not yet had servo problems

the 4.8v nimh pack that i took off was at 5.5v fully charged

its now running a 2s lipo with the reg

I originally got the 2 in 1 as my glow stick is knackered an like the idea of the glow being built in.
Also, I thought the output voltage could be adjusted between 5 and 6 volts but it seems I was getting confused between the 2 in 1 and an Align ESC for a 450 which is adjustable IIRC.
