Odd Gyro Behaviour

Been using a GY520 for a while now and it appeared to be pretty good, but today it played up on my second battery and this is not the first time.

The odd thing is it worked well for one battery the appears to have reversed itself and spins wildly as I tried to lift off for a second battery, I landed disconnected everything and tried again to no avail

I guess my question is - Is the Gyro on the way out ??????
