im thinking of changing the tail servo on my flasher 450 to a Savox SH-0257 Digital Metal Gear Micro Servo

    Speed (sec/60°): 0.09
    Torque (kg-cm/oz-in): 2.2/30.5
    Gear: Metal
    Case: Aluminium

and can get them local to me for £15 . i do have a couple of savox serxo's (not micro) in a 1/5th scale car to run the hydrolic brakes and there very good...fast and powerful...

has any one used the micro savox

No, but for £15 i'd give them a shot for sure.

I've just replaced my tail servo though with a 65MG and the thing is awesome , costs more though.

      An HS65MG ?

Not an obvious candidate for a tail servo, IMO.

Your quite right, sorry my mistake it wasnt that at all

HSG5084 Dig. Tail Servo - This however is working really well

        Specs for comparison
        Torque: 21 / 26 oz.in (4.8v/6v) 1.5 / 1.9 kg.cm
        Speed: 0.07 / 0.05 sec @ 60 deg.
        Bushing Or Bearing: Bearing
        Gear Type: Metal

0.09 is a little slow for a tail, however, perfect for cyclic.

The tail should hold better with a faster servo such as DS420.

            ●Stall torque:0.75kg.cm(4.8V)
            1.0kg.cm(6.0V)
            ●Motion speed:0.08sec/60°(4.8V)
            0.06sec/60°(6.0V)
            ●Rating voltageC 4.8-6V
            ●Temperature range:-20°C~+60°C
            ●Dimension:22.8 x 12 x 25.4mm
            ●Weight:12.7g
            ●1520μs standard band

However, due to the low torque of micro servos, I would recommend a mid servo such as the Align DS520.

            ●Stall torque:1.9kg.cm(4.8V)
            2.5kg.cm(6.0V)
            ●Motion speed:0.09sec/60°(4.8V)
            0.07sec/60°(6.0V)
            ●Rating voltageC 4.8-6V
            ●Temperature range:-20°C~+60°C
            ●Dimension:35 x 15 x 29.2mm
            ●Weight:25.9g
            ●1520μs standard band

Upgrading from a micro to mid DS520 tail servo has worked very well on two Blade 400's and the additional weight was easily balanced by moving the pack forward.
