  • Spectrum sensor and OS/Align 55?

Just trying to fit my Specktrum Gov sensor to the engine but the bracket and senso assembled is too long and I can't screw the screws down unless I put around 2-3mm of washers under the bracket which doesn't seem right. doing that would still leave the sensor hard against the back plate which is obviously not good. Is this common or am I just putting it together wrong? I have a KDE one as well but the same problem occurs there but it also shorts out the sensor...don't ask how I know

    Spectrum sensor and OS/Align 55?

There are two positions for the sensor Phil
Undo the little crosshead screw in assembly that secures the sensor to the bracket and close them together
    Hope that makes sense

On the standard plastic mounting for the Spektrum GOV Sensor there will be two positions, one for 50 size and one for 90 size. I use the sensors but still find that even when it is set to the 50 size position it is still tight and the sensor touches the backplate with a cap between the plastic sensor mouting and the backplate, so what i do is fit washer inbetween the plstic sensor and backplate so this allows the sensor to stand off the backplate very slighly and then be secured corrently.

You don't want a big gap between the sensor and backplate, what i usually do is sandwich a piece of heatshrink in there inbetween the sensor and backplate and then secure the bracket to the engine using washers and slightly longer bolts.

I have found that with 50 size engines, particularly the 50Hyper and 55HZ Hyper that the washers that comes with many 50 size tail blades, Radix for example will give you a near enough perfect gap between the sensor and backplate.

      Hope this helps!
      Thanks!

Yeah just read a thread on RR about it.

Going to have to find some washers and longer bolts now and I now have a KDE bracket for sale as I'm not risking putting that on and it moving in flight and causing a short
