  • Another 8900G or a BLS251??? in my Logo

Ok, i've had the result back from JR confirming that my 8900G is dead & so drawing the line under my Logo tail issues finally. They have offered my a brand new replacement for £60 + vat which itself is a good deal BUT i'm left thinking as it's another 8900G i'll be constantly thinking when's it gonna fail. So what would you do, take the offer or get the BLS251 for the extra money??

Will it's performance (matched with a CSM720) justify the extra cash & how much more reliable is is over the 8900?? I've read of quite a few people having failures with the JR which is swinging me largely towards the 251.......also the wife's given her approval of me spending out on either one although i do feel bad with paying that amount for a servo.

Ah, it seems that the BLS is the same price now. In the march copy of MHW it was £119 but now it's down to £89?? strange but fantastic. The only bad thing is they are out of stock everywhere & wont be in until around tuesday/wednesday

Is there any common thread to the 8900 failures you're aware of ?

I have one heli with an 8900 and had not heard of any unusual failure rate. I do recall reading somewhere recently, I think maybe in the JR770 gyro manual, that higher gain settings will result in shortened servo life, which makes perfect sense if it's working the servo harder. But before that I actually had not thought about it this way.
