  • Align Gp780 gyro setup help

    Alright,

I have just got to the gyro and tail setup stage of my T-Rex 450 build. So I know that I need to centre the tail servo first and get the horn at 90 degrees etc....But when I power on the heli the gyro initialises straight into headlock mode (green status LED shows) I know when I have used the Gy401 gyro in previous builds all I had to do to beable to centre the tail servo was I put the gyro in rate mode by using the toggle switch on my TX (DX6i) but now the gyro switch on my Tx with the GP780 gyro appears to not be doing anything?? I have the gyro settings 0:60% (so this should be in HH) Then 1:30% (this should be in rate mode) but when I flick the switch to 1 position the LED is still green on the gyro indicating it's still in HH mode.

Any help will be muchly appreciated.

    Cheers Grant.

Ok, have you got the gyro set to end points or using the gyro sens menu?
Also have you ensured that you have set the toggle switch to the correct channel input?
WoW i'm tiered, will try and offer more advice when i'm not fallling a sleeeep

Hey Ross,I'm sure the gyro switch on my DX6i is set to operate channel 6 (Gear) on my AR6100E as it did when I was using it in my Blade 400.I think I may have found the problem....When I flick the switch on my TX whilst in the gyro menu the arrow didn't move from position 0 down to 1 so the only thing I can think of is the switch on my radio has gone? Will have to wait and see tomorrow now as the batteries have run out in my TX I hope it's not gone as this radio hasn't even had an hours use yet and has been back to Horizon three times already

Cheers for your advice anyway mate.

If you've programmed a new model in the TX then your gear switch might be set to another function/channel so I'd check that first. It's unlikely the switch has gone, but stranger things have happened. Sorry to hear you've had some to send it back 3 times already! I've had my DX7 for about 2 years now and it's never missed a beat.

          Alright Ross,

I found out the gyro switch wasn't working as the bateries had got too low in the TX.Now I have the batteries fully charged and when I flick the switch is does move so that's a relief I will try see if the switch is set then as you say,Thanks for the pointers mate.

          Cheers Grant

              Hey Ross,

All is sorted now I was able to get the gyro into rate mode which enabled me to centre the tail servo properly It appears the problem was when the voltage was low on the batteries in my TX it wouldn't allow me to toggle the gyro switch from position 0-1.Kind of weird I thought as all the other switches still worked lol! Oh well at least it's done now and your help is much appreciated mate.Thank you.

              Cheers Grant.
