wouldn't cost much to fix yourself tim you'd need this Fast Lad Performance and these Servo Plugs Terminals Fits Futaba x 5 sets Black on eBay (end time 30-May-10 15:49:57 BST)

      easy fix for about £15

I have never heard, or had, a good word to say about Ripmax. You send a servo or something off to them and you have to constantly chase to get anything done or posted back to you...... Everything just seems like hard work to them and I am absolutely amazed that they continue to be allowed to act as distributors for any brand, let alone Futaba.

Ripmax need to take a lesson in customer service from Horizion (Spektrum), as they are second to none EVERY time. This was one of the main reasons I started using Spektrum. I changed from Futaba servos to JR and gyros I now use are Spartan. I will never use a Ripmax product again, purely down to the fact that you get no aftermarket service and in this game, we all know how important it is.

          Rant over...

The thing about the GY520 is that it is a special molded plug and there may be some reasons why Ripmax can't fix it.

If you can accept standard type Futaba connectors grafted in place of the original, then I am happy to do it for you, I have the tools here (and the connector shells & pins) so if you want to PM me I'll send my address.

Note: I cannot verify the functionality of the gyro, but I'm happy to fix the connectors.

One good thing about the CSM720s I now use is they have no wires built in to them, they use standard extension leads. if you have a problem just change the lead for a new one.

Exactly. But the point of my first post was to point out that no matter how bad you think you might have damaged your CSM gyro, CSM will repair it for a very reasonable price.

It is such a shame that Ripmax are stuck in the dark ages when it comes to customer service

Mike Ridley is an ex Ripmax service engineer who now runs a private service

                    HERE

I'm sure it's worth contacting him for a quote, as he is very helpful.

A couple of weeks back i had a few problems with my DS760 - It seemed to re-set mid flight, inconsistant holdign and piros etc.
I sent it back to them, and it was well out of warrentee. (they gave me a full list of owners from new, and it was also used by Ade Law quite some time ago when he flew for spartan).

Being that the first paragraph stated it was well out of warrentee, I figured I would have to pay for repairs etc.

There were 2 problems, 1 was cracked diode, and the other a cracked crystal sensor or something like that. The cable also looked a little well used too.

The next line stated that they have repaired it all for free, put a new cable on and re-conditioned it, updated with the latest firmware and reset it back to standard so it should be as good as new. ALL completly free of charge, and then they send it back with first class recorded aswell.

Amasing service, and UK company aswell. I would recomend Spartans to anyone, even just for their customer service
+1 there customer service is great and they don't fob you off like most will.

Friend of mine had a bad crash last year pulling leads etc off his DS760.

I said your problem now is even if you were to repair the leads would you trust it , then i told him to get a ticket off Spartan and they should check it over and fix it even if cost £30 it's better than paying out full price.

He got his info for returns and he got it back within a week at cost only £15 as he bought it 2nd hand.

                      He was well happy

Totally agree with you Matt. Horizon service are so good that I've never heard anyone say anything bad about them.

It would be nice to think that someone from Ripmax would read this thread and maybe respond....

Horizon do have awesome service - On the ripmax side of things, if they cant be arsed to be considerate and responsible to repair faulty items, I very much doubt the will be considerate and responsible enough to post on a public forum! Ripmax would never be that helpfull!
