  • Align Governor

    Hi Guys

In the process of fitting an Align RCE-G600 Governor to my Raptor 50. What is the recommended sensor to magnet distance?

    Cheers

As close as you can get realy terry
I would say about 1mm to 2mm will be ideal.
when youve set it turn the system on & rotate the fan.
There is a light on the unit when the magnet laps over the sensor
it will turn the light out. if it doesnt do this its not sencing correctly
or one of your mgnets is in the wrong way.

Unless your unit works differently a guy at MK tried to use the sensor on a raptor and it didn't work. When fitted to a T-Rex the "sensitive" side of the sensor is the writing which faces the magnet. In your Raptor it will be fitted so the underside is facing the magnet and for this guy it did not work.

During the setup process the unit will work as per the instructions. When the fan is turning at 17,000 rpm the sensor does not "see" the magnet properly and so the governor does not work.

              Gah not good then.
              Maybe needs a revlock ten?
I didnt know this to be a problem on
              the raptor.

Worked fine on my Titan and I'm running 1950rpm. I will update this post in a bit with a pic of what i did.

Ok not on the titan but the compass (****ing down out side so cant be arse to get it) But it is the same on both only the length is different. By offsetting the sensor it put the magnet dead center. I keyed up the aluminum and the sensor board then epoxied the board to the plate. Then lockwired it and epoxied over that.

The sensor is a Hall effect sensor. All it does is give 1 pulse per revolution of the engine. The two magnets are set one north the other south. The sensor only read north so you only get one pulse. The other magnet is only for balence on the fan.
