  • how good are my servos

Im currently using futaba s9252 servos on my 600 and was just wondering how good they are compared to newer sevos. I want a faster cyclic response for more punchy moves. I have never flown another 600 so I can not comment on performance.

Cant seem to find a stockist anywhere to compare.

DS610 is a solid cyclic servo for the 600. Have a look at this website:

Nothing wrong with the 9252 servo, Power/Speed wise. If there good enough for my old Fury 90 there more than adequate for a 600. And you can run them at 6V no problem despite what allot of people say.

However, they do tend to get a bit out of sync with each other and you end up having to compensate with a bunch of electronic adjustment. Which just leads to some interaction on the head.

If you want faster cyclic I would recommend lighter blades or paddles.

Ian when you say faster response do you mean a quicker reaction to when you apply cyclic, less lag between you moving the stick and the heli starting to respond, or do you want faster rates of roll and pitch at full stick?

If its faster rates then its more swash mix if you can or lighter blades and/or paddles, or increase the headspeed if you're not allready running it at too high of a speed to really increase it any more.

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I ran 9252s for a long period of time on my my Knight 3D. They were OK but definitely got less accurate over time and lacked enough torque (hold) for aggressive 3D.

Personally I would recommend investing in a set of BLS-451s for any 600.

However, if you are sport flying then I would leave them on your machine as they will not be as overworked.

less lag is essentially what im trying to get. using light weight kbdd paddles already. unsure of head speed think im around 1950rpm mark.

Before spending the dosh on serv's I would advise running circa 2100 to see if you get the response you are looking for. The higher the headspeed the sharper the cyclic response and POP becomes. 1950 is a bit low for working a 600 blade hard.

A cheap fast blade that works well is the Align Pro 600 wood cores, but auto's do suffer.
