Well, done the tail bell crank mod (well worth it!) and all seem well?!

I coule tap the gyro all day long and it doesnt go off on one.

Off to the field tomorrow, so will check it all over then.

      Right, well it didnt work

The mod definitely makes the tail slider a lot smoother when moving the rudder, it also stops the oscillation when you lightly tap the gyro.

Unfortuantely, it now oscillates in flight!...Doh

paul, fyi my mate "fixed" his with an 8700G. it was all he had spare so it no longer does it.

the problem is the heli though so all he's done is hide it. but it shouldn't do it now so all is well.

FYI his also does it in flight.

        cheers

Chers Paul, hopefully the 8900 will 'sort it'.

It is still flyable... just, but will be looking forward to it getting the 251 swapped out.

          Cheers

I would suspect the pushrod from Servo to Bell crank is resonating as on the Velo its very long.

You could check whether its the gyro/servo combo responding tothis by disconnecting the push rod at the servo and watching the servo horn whilst fiddling around with the Gyro etc etc.

Once you isolate the problem a solution should be possible. You could possibly increase the dead band in the Gyro to de-sensitise the reaction?

Its fine with the push rod dis conneted.

Im guessing its the combination of Spartan, Velo, BLS251, I prob could get it sorted if I had the patience, but I just want to fly it, so the 8900 will do.

barney, al can't fix his. if he can't fix it then you can be assured it can't be fixed easily. he's spent hours trying to fix it now to no avail.

if i had to bet i'd say g10 frames will fix it because it will shift the frequency.

                cheers

one way to fix this cheaply without buying another expensive servo....... buy a 600E boom mount bracket and put the servo on the boom. This cuts out all the bell cranks and rods etc. (assuming this is some kind of mechanical feedback or resonance).

I have swapped for a JR8900, so will give that a test and see.

This problem has also been replicated on other machines too I have been told.

Cheers Paul (Raptorheli2) for all the advice through-out the week, much appreciated.

I also swapped my BLS251 for Paul 8900G and it seems to have fixed/hidden the problem
