S9254 problem

Hi, I have recently replaced my S9257 for a S9254 servo on my Protos but since then I have bad wag no matter what gain I use. Check all linkages etc. I took it of and and had a closer look and found that when I let the rudder center it self the servo doesnt and twitches quite bad and has trouble staying at the the center. I then check my old S9257 and that servo centers with no twitching what so ever. So I decided to open the servo up and have a look and found a piece broken in two. See photo, could this be the problem? The white part that holds the large black.Could this be whats causing the twitching?

i would say yes, this centers the servo gears to the pot
