Why do you want to spend more than what is considered pretty high endish stuff to put it on a clone? Genuinely interested as to why you went with a clone which is likely to have more slop etc, but you want to spend a fortune on Electrics?Trex 500 - CC450 - Blade mSR - Blade mCX - DX6i - Phoenix

i got the copter x ae...
many reasons why i got this first it looks better than the align heli 450
second its much cheaper compared to £280 align carbon fibre (i hate the metal version plus its an older model and i dont like outdated things)
i beileive i can trun this copter x into a very powerful heli with the right help of you guys out there.
fourthly i will build it over an approx 4 month period.so to expand the spending over alenth of time
plus i have to buy the dx7 se model inc the receiver and thats about £270 .
currently im using the esky fm tx on the chrome belt cp 2
hope this helps

???? The CopterX 450AE is a metal framed clone of the Align 450 SEV2, which is now an older model and therefore outdated?!Originally posted by Wasimwazir View Posti got the copter x ae...

If you are spending all that money on decent electronics I would personally go for the Spartan Quark gyro over the GP780.
I would seriously look at replacing the bearings on the copterx kit, you will probably also want to replace the tail fairly soon as they tend to develop stress fractures after a while resulting in an exploding tail and plenty of damage!
IMO if you have so much to spend on electrics, I would say go for a better kit and put slightly cheaper electrics in, will give you a better flying heli I think. Just so you know, I have had the CopterX 450 AE and the EXI 450 as well as the Belt CP and the T-Rex 450. You will end up swapping most of the CopterX out for align parts over time which will cost way more than just buying an Align kit to start, and you could get the pro for a decent price which is a way better heli!Last edited by PsiLo; 20-03-2010, 07:44 PM.Gerd

ok. everyone has their own experiences right. i have seen some very good copter x's. you see why i dont go and buy the align combo? http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/t-re...ry-p-8557.htmli want to make my custom machine not one thats already put together so all you do is connect everything. you know i want sumin unique, plus i dont want to dish out £400 on a kit that i dont realy like coz my heli will be much better than this one and will be cheaper-£307.(save me over £100)
as for the quark gyro ; theyve not been around as long as align and ive never bought them so i have doubts about its performance; align, i can put my trust in coz alot alot of people have had them and given good reviews on it.but im still looking at it coz theyre amazingLast edited by 3Dheliflyer; 20-03-2010, 10:41 PM.

i really think you need to start listening to some of the more experienced lads on here mate! that have been posting to try and HELP you! i and no doubt alot of others think your going about it the wrong way! you will no doubt end up putting align gear on as the cheap stuff starts to wear and break! and there is no need to doubt spartan gyros either! very very good units!

I have been doing alot of thinking
and so i have taken everybody's view
and ive come down to this conclusion.
once i receive my copter x as kit il keep it and swap all the electronics over to from mybeltcp2. so no more esky .
and il buy the align kit pro combo! and ive taken everybody's advise after all 10 people vs 1 person... dosent add up rite! i must be doing sumin wrong.
thanks everyone you all have convinced me to get the align kit.at least theres something to be proud of .
here is what im buying
http://cgi.ebay.com/ALIGN-T-REX-450-...item335ae4f7b1
its got pretty much everything and i guess i gotto live with it,after all align is the best !Last edited by 3Dheliflyer; 21-03-2010, 07:56 AM.

To be honest that is the way I went. I first put a copterx head on to my Belt Cp. I then snapped the frame and ended up buying a CopterX 450 AE which I transferred all my belt cp electronics too. Then over time I upgraded the CopterX parts to align parts as they failed or got damaged. Finally ended up with a complete Align SEV2 airframe, albeit a very expensive route to getting it!!
If you don't want the align electronics on the Pro super combo you can always sell them and replace with what you want. That being said, the super pro combo you are buying is perfectly good as it is and will fly way better than you would ever get a CopterX flying, no matter how much you spent on electronics for it.
Good choice
