Gyro Foam Pads

I probably already know the answer to my question, but I've just had to take apart my 600N boom block to replace a belt drive gear. Obviously this has meant ripping the GY401 off and therefore destroying the foam pad. I have none to replace it, so can I use double sided foam tape? It is about the same thickness, and very sticky.

I have done with no problem. I doubled it up to make sure there was good vibration insulation but it worked fine for me.

Yeah I was planning on doubling up either way, just to help dampen any vibrations. I'll give it a go, see how sturdy it is

Planehazza, getting yourself the 600N front Gyro mounting plate will save you cutting your Gyro tapes + it allows a retaining strap to be used. The mtg plate is attached using a couple screws.

I have used double sided foam tape before, but had a few issue's on my 500 a few weeks ago. I went to my local shop and tried to get some advice as the tail was wagging. It turned out that the foam tape was actually getting cold in the recent weather and was hardening slightly. This caused it to not absorb the vibrations as well and started to cause the problems. Swapped it out there and then for an Align pad and problem sorted. Haven't had any issue's in the cold since!

Got velcro and a velcro strap on mine... couldnt find any propper gyro pads....

Hi mate,

I've already got that but I have my gov mounted there.

I've just got myself (thanks to sao) a DS760 so I'll need to get some propa foam mounts to fit that.
