It looks locked in.
There's only so much you can take from a video, I find - you really need to fly one yourself to truly get a feel for how good a unit is.
No info available on their website as yet - is any information out there about it?

anybody can be an Arsehole, it takes real commitment, dedication and a whole lot of effort to be nice.
Wow that is tiny, if it really is as good as it looks it could make those high end Footabas unsaleable overnight especially where there is a weight penalty

The heli was equiped with a twin gyro (one servo) setup so that the heli could be flown on either. This was firstly to allow the heli to take off on the know gyro (601) and when at a safe height switch to the new one. If there was any problems the known one could be quickly switched back to (hopefully). This setup would also permit a decent pilot to switch between the gyros for more extensive testing.
now im more intrested in the switch would be great to be able to side by side comparisons
I am hurt! I 've been working on this gyro for over a year. John (the other half of Spartan RC) spent less than a week to make the switch
Seriously though, it is a little tricky switching gyros in flight but it can be done with a bit of cleaver mixing (and the switch of course). Basically you have to make sure that the disconnected gyro is held in normal mode so that the HH is kept zeroed. Otherwise you would almost certainly get a yaw jump the moment you switch gyros. This could be 45 deg or more depending on the locking range of the gyro. However, if done properly (with the disconnected gyro held in normal mode) the switching is totally transparent. You won't even know it happened.
In theory the switch can also be used for direct comparison of governors. Switching is a little easier here since a second or two or over/underspending is not likely to cause any harm. In any case properly configured curves must be used as a backup.
