  • Hitec 5065 vs 65MG

Are the 5065's worth the extra money over standard 65MG's? Looking to stick a set in my 450 Pro as the std 410's have started playing up!

Thats what i put in my sev2 when the 3153's gave up ... They are precise and it flys good but cant tell you what it does under manic 3d conditions cuase i crash too easy if i try that silly idea....

Whilst I have no direct experience of either, on doing the research in readiness for my post-Christmas 450 build, I went for the 65MGs.

Having looked on the Servo Database here, the two are identical in fit form and function.

Whether the digital are more accurate than the analogue I don't know. What I do know is that they are cheaper and, at my level of flying, I don't need pin-point accuracy (if indeed there is a difference).

Inwoods have the 5065s cheaper than Fastlads hs65`s and Inwoods 65mgs are cheaper still.

I have 5065's on my G5 and 56MG's on my TREX 250. The 5065's will deliver more power across the range and better accuracy, BUT I doubt I could tell the difference.

I visited Inwoods (they are local) and got the 3 * 65MG's for under £40....

Alas, they've gone up now. I spoke to them twice last week and the best price I could get was £16.50 or £16.00 each if I bought 4.

Bear in mind that whilst most ESC's BEC will happily run 3 x Analogue servos, digitals draw more current and you may need to invest in an external BEC additionally.

In short in my opinion, Yes they are worth the extra dont get me wrong the 65mgs are a great servo i used them exclusively in my old 450 se V2 good performers the digi version though in the pro i feel give an edge the 65's dont im not 3D pro yet but i can notice a difference in the heli particularly when the head is under heavy load its difficult to put into words but the heli just feels more positive to inputs quick direction changes are exactly that and i think they centre better which is great for hovering and precision moves.
Id also advise you fit a Ubec with these as loads on the bec can be close to the limits, for the sake of around £6 for a Ubec and a few grams its peace of mind

Indeed the 5065's are cheap at Inwoods, so cheap that they havn't got any stock and don't know when more is coming in... I want a set of 3 for my pending 450 pro purchase as well as a R6106HFC Rx from them

Thanks, but I must pass on those thanks to Volare and Evo Andy. I beleive the former built the database and the latter bought it to my attention a while ago.
