  • JR Servos

    More newbie questions.

Anyone got any experience with JR DS8301 digital servos?

Looking to buy a 50 size heli, probably a Knight 50 based on what I have read (not just from Ade!), and was wondering if these servos are adequate.

they'll more than do the job on a 50 size ccpm machine, maybe if you don't go for the knight(non ccpm) some thing with a more grunt on collective.

Do you have any recommendations on alternative 50 size helis?

depends on the machine and flying style, i use ds8231's on the cyclic of my 50 titan and ds8411 on the collective, futaba digi's are worth a look at too, seem to have more of a range than jr for the same sort of money. and better specs,
Something with 5kg plus on cyclics for a 50 size and 7kg plus on collective is a good starting piont. unless ccpm then obviously you need three identical servos for the swash, digital would be best

The DS 811`s and the new 821`s are not too bad but a Futaba 3152 would be a better bet possibly

Hitec 6965`s are well specced for the price

Digital recommended but not essential unless its a CCPM heli like the Knight then they need to be really
