i personally wouldn't trust a 9254 as far as i could throw it. had a few fail myself. 8900's seem not bad but i would roll with the bls251 over an 8900. not tried the 650 align yet.

i am testing an MKS980 brushless tail servo in my velocity, so far, so good.

    cheers
pmsl... i gathered there was some exaggeration there but didnt want to point it out haha

I have just seen some specs on the MKS servos.

Are any shops in the UK selling them yet?

After a bit of reading now I might try the Savox 1290.

Just checked my original post when I was putting together the heli and your right it was 2004 not 2001 as I thought... my mistake.

          Savox 1290

superb servo... these are the new range from savox NOT the ones "licensed by Align and then use dodgy plastics".

stronger and cheaper than a 9254 by far..

              8900G's for me.

if you can stand a little wait go for MKS servos. the DS8910 is blisteringly fast on my 500, and i have slightly slower ones on the cyclic (9960 i think...)

very good quality, all metal geared. Apparently the gears are good upgrades for the equivalent futaba's.

Thanks for the link. But so far I have only seen a fast servo with 2 kg of torque. All the reviews seem to be talking about having one on the 500.

Do they make a servo with more torque and similar speed?

ok, if you go to my link then click on the MKS servo section at the top, you'll see all the ones they have. they do do more torque, but naturally you lose speed. how much torque are you after?

Well I'm just judging by the Futaba 9254 which I think is about 4kg but maybe that's excessive and you only need a couple kilos of torque?

Those MKS servo's are 500 size mini servos. The 9254 is standard size so you can't compare them really.

Be keeping an eye on MKS stuff see how poeple get on with it as the specs (and price!) do look quite good!

Yeah, I think we'll see more from them and a few others because they know there's a market for a good fast servo at a competitive price.

I am trying to get a Savox 1290 to try out, 'just having difficulties with ordering on Rossendale's website but I'm sure it will get sorted.
