gyros like a certain amount of "mechanical gain" the symptoms you suggest are classic of having too much mechanical gain.

this basically amounts to the relationship between servo horn length and tail speed, tail size etc

Been up the field this afternoon with the ball moved in one hole on the servo output arm.

Still getting bounce at the end of a pirouette, regardless of the 'delay' setting, and the fast forward flight wobble is now improved with a gain setting of 45%.

I might try swapping the servo with the 9254 that's in my Freya and see how things go from there. I certainly never had these problems with the 9250 when it was connected to the old CSM 420 gyro, and the Freya has a CSM 560. If it's a gyro-to-servo communication thing, then this should sort it out, and would mean that I just have to get a 9254 for the Voyager.

the 401 and 9254 takes very little setting up. i generally just set them on the bench and they just work.

Just buy one then, and don't bother doing the swap.

I would yes, as Ade says, it is a superbly reliable combo, the 401 and a 9254.

            Cheers,
            Pete.
