  • Align Governor

Hi has anyone had any problems with the Align Governor?

On my NSP if the gov is connected the heli acts like the engine is miss firing and it doen't matter if the Gov is turned on or off if I disconnect the gov and connect the servo direct the heli hover rock steady.

The magnets are fine and the sensor looks good and it is a nice distance from the magnets the fan is not bent or disformed and the Gov was working well for about a month. I have turned the motor over but the Gov does not register or flash any more.

My NSP is only 2 months old would the gov be covered by any warranty?

It sounds like the sensor is faulty rather than the gov Nicolas. Try replacing that.

      Pete,

I am going to order a sensor any way for the sake of £7 but as I have the Gov programed to a seperate switch on the TX I can turn it on an off inflight and even with the gov off the heli is messing abut or do you think that the gov never really turns off?

With the governor plumbed into the system, the signal must go through it (between receiver and throttle servo).

The sensor shouldn't affect this "pass through" though... I'm wondering if the governor unit has failed, rather than the sensor?

Do you get any lights on the governor unit at any time?
If not, that would suggest to me that the governor unit has failed.

        Cheers,

This is kinda odd. You should be able to turn the gov on and off and see the light going from green to red. When its off the gov should be bypassed allowing you to run on throttle curves (as if the gov isnt even there). It seems odd that even when switched off it is interacting somehow which indicates you may have a problem with the gov and/or the sensor. Tricky one this!

With the Gov off the light is red and the Gov on the light is green.

If I bypass the Gov the normal throttle curve works but with the Gov plugged in and with the Gov off changing the normal TC makes little affect.

So I think it is the Gov unit that is faulty as when it is off it should just pass the signals from the tx TC which it is not...

I have spoken to the supplier and it is looking like I will send the gov back to them for testing and we will go from there...

As I am only flying at a basic level not having a gov for a while make no diffrence I am quite happy with a good old Trottle curve...

I am just glad I have found the problem the heli flys much better when it is not miss firing all the time...

Well after further inspaction the sensor had a small crack in the plastic and after a bit of a poke with my finger it come off so I am going to buy another sensor and test it.
Mat @ Simply T-Rex had offered to test it if needed but its likly to be the sensor...
