this has been floating about for ages. it was meant to be released in dec and been delayed. very little info around on it. i look forward to news, rumours are it will be about 180-190 quid.........time will tell.

the programming lead i assume is optional and is about £45 apparently also.

Scandalous! Nah, I'll stick with the Spartan and £50 towards a good servo for that money...

That's true Paul, it keeps things moving as you say but makes you wonder how far it can develop.

I guess back in the 80's when the first mechanical rate gyro appeared people thought exactly the same so I'm sure we're in for a treat in the future. I guess the Helicommand / V-Bar idea is the next thing and from the very limited experience I had of the helicommand it felt somewhat disconnected as the heli didn't need the constant nudges in the hover to stay steady, you just held the sticks still and it did it for you. Made the 600 feel like a contra tbh.

So how far it goes, and how far we let it go as pilots I think is really interesting.

andy, i'm more interested in the serial bus thing on this gyro. i can only assume futaba are going to run this thing direct to the RX and speed it up or something. remember some futaba rx's have data ports that thus far have no use.........watch that space.

              cheers

The lead is the CIU-2 interface which has been around some time. It can be had for as little as $34 which is about £24.

The shops in the states are pricing the gyro at $195 - $200 which is in the region of £140. And then we have the UK fiddle factor to contend with!!

                Using $1.40 = £1.00

wow, could be pricey then, hmmm like all futaba products really! I was planning to upgrade my Gyro's and will intersted to see how these perform but for now the SolidG is still the top of my list.
