  • Futaba 9650 servos help

Hi I have a 9650 servo that was on my old raptor and it suffered some damage..

I have replaced the case and the gears but I am not sure if I have put the gears back in the correctly as it now doesn't centre????

I would like to use this as tail servo on my 450 as I had a 3111 and the gears have stripped in that now after a dink and I can’t find any gears for that and it’s not really up to the job...

    Any suggestions please

Take it apart again and turn the gear that sits on top of the pot around by 180 deg - it's the gear that has a rectangular slot in its bottom and is at one end of the servo (opposite end to the output splines I think).

Cool I will try this when I get home I hope it is broken...

There was a small plastic rectanglar bit that wasn't in the gear set abd it is cracked but I don't think it matters as it is held by another gear....

There's a video over here about general servo repairs:

          http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=41692

          It's called "Servo Repair 101"

          Hope this helps.

Ok I have rebuilt this servos and the potentiometer is bust it is very sticky..

Has anyone got any 9650/9257 servos with broken motors that are going beging?

I also need the little white plastic rectangel (VR plastic pad) as mine is cracked and I didn't get one in the gear set?

I just had an S9252 servo ( Swift 16 elevator servo) that had been through a crash. I fixed the 9252 aileron servo with a new gear and tried the heli. To my suprise the elevator servo was wierd, it would work normally but when I stopped moving the servo would almost "relax" and come back a few degrees!??? I took all of the gears out AGAIN, but this time I pulled the Black Potentiometer Drive Gear off and found the Small White rectangular drive cog was broken in half. "Aha" Replaced the drive cog with the one from the " S9252 Gear Drive Set FUTM3444" now I have a new servo again.
