  • Futaba 9252 Servo gears

    Hi All

Has anyone had any experience of 9252 servo gears stipping in flight? I had an 'incident' with my T-rex 600 today. I was flying towards myself when all of a sudden the heli began to nose dive. I pulled back on the elevator and managed to level up. I flew back and landed. As it began to spool down, it tipped forward and went over on its side. I picked it up to find minimal damage, except elevator and aileron servo gears broken. I am not sure whether the gears broke in flight causing the problem, or they broke when the heli tipped over.... I use a 2.4G radio, so don't believe it was a glitch

    Cheers

It's not something ive heard of before. A mate has been using them in his knight and giving them a good hammering without any problems for about a year and a half. I'd look elsewhere for the cause.

I've never done 9252 gears in flight and the 9252 wouldn't have enough torque to strip them anyway IMHO.

Sounds more like you had another problem (maybe a faulty servo) and stripped them in the crash.

Thanks Chaps, I had a good trawl over at Runryder as well and didn't find any reports either. I'll have a good look at the servos when I replace the gears. The servos have only done about six flights, so I suppose it could be possible that I may have a 'Friday afternoon' gearset or servo

I would look very carefully over the heli before you fix and fly it again. It looks like you had some sort of problem and I'm not convinced it was a gearset.

Hav a look at the RX connections and for any wire damage.
