  • Align gov & Futaba 7c 2.4

Anybody set up one of these governors using the GOV screen on the 7c?

What % equates to the various flight mode headspeeds?

What are the maths behind working out the headspeed for each condition.

I have been using Revlocks which are easy to set up as the lights indicate the RPM but the Align version seems to require a tach when not using ATV.

    Any help welcome guys.

    Pete,

I have mine set as follows:

    MIX >INH
    SW >E
    DIR>+LIMIT

UP>0.0% - Gov off in normal mode
    CT>60% for IU1
    DN>77% for IU2

I got the percentages from a thread on HeliFreak Sorry, I have lost the reference) but have not yet had a chance to check the speeds with a tacho, they are probably a good starting point though. If you get anywhere with testing I would apprecate a PM back.

    Regards,
    Shaun.

      Regards,
Just got chance to test the gov today - the setup appears to have a problem - when selecting gov mode by going to IU1 (red LED changes to green) at about 1/3rd throttle, the engine revs increase slightly then die???? Anyone got any ideas? Could it be that 60% is not enough? The sensor is seeing the magnets and the LED changes to green....didn't think to go to IU2 though

From what you say, I think the setup where you tell the gov what is high and low stick is reverse, So when the gov turns on it shuts the throttle instead of increases it.

          Thanks Darren,

Is there anyway to check this without running the engine??

Just been out in the cold to get my trex 700 manual.

Place the throttle stick at its lowest point, turn on tx and then receiver, when the gov light is on press the button for 3 seconds, while the light is flashing move the throttle stick to full, the light will turn off and then come back on, This means it is set.

Let me know how you get on,
            Cheers Daren

Thanks Daren (whoops spelt that wrong last time, sorry),
I am sure I did that the last time I had a 'fiddle' with the 600. Its not been flying or powered up for a while, I wonder if the gov electronics had forgotten the setting? I repeated the throttle setting today, but only after flying when checking the heli over. Is this something that has to be done on every outing do you think?
