  • Revlock30 and 7C 2.4 set up??????

    Hi everyone

I just changed my GV-1 for a RL30. I want to run 3 head speeds from my idle up switch (switch E) but cant for the life of me fathom out how to to it!

This Tx has the GOVERNOR menu (same as FF9 etc) which I believe I may have to change the % to get it to work how I want. With the GV-1 I just left this default and changed the HS on the LCD screen.

Can anyone give me an idiots guide way of doing this as I'm pretty stumped!

Someone like Trev would be useful as I know he runs Futaba and CSM stuff.

Thanks everyone, now back to pulling my hair out!!!

I'm unaware of how to specifically set up that Tx, it should be possible but I need to see the limitations of the software first.

What you need to be able to do is tell the centre position of the switch that it is not actually 0% which will mean it's active in either mode A or B. If you can, see if the tx allows you a curve function for that switch or maybe 3 position values in the gov screen? The mode A and B on the RL30 are only looking for positive / negative values. IE, if Mode A was positive then:

    +100% = Mode A
    +33% = Mode A
    0% = Off
    -23% = Mode B
    - 100% = Mode B

So you could set your switch as:
    30% - Normal (Mode A)
    35% - Idle1 (Mode A)
    -40% - Idle2 (Mode B)

I'm clueless as to how to do that without looking at the tx but that's a best guess...

Pete - what bit don't you get ??? you can set the gov function to give more than one speed in each mode ( A or B) by adjusting the %age on the screen - I think the CSM info is misleading as it implies only two speeds, one in A and one in B.

        what trev said... basically.

the gov screen on the 7c should be the same as the 9c so it will be 0, 50, 100. on the rev lock this equates to 100% speed mode A, gov disabled, 100% speed in mode B

so if you wanted the gov disabled in normal slow in idle up 1 and fast in idle up 2 you would have 50 (norm) 25% in idle up 1 with the mode A range set to 11k and fast in idle up 2 could be 70% with the B range set to 17k

        hope this makes sense :-)

          Thanks for the replies guys.

So, will altering the % in the GOV menu alter the HS in each flight condition or is this just simply telling the RL to turn on/off? Linked to this, will changing these values mess up any settings on the RL?

Sorry if I'm being a bit slow here people!

Giving some more thought I think I understand.

So, in the GOV menu if I set Normal to 50% (off), idle 1 to 100% (on) and idle 2 to 100% (on) then just set the rpm on the RL itself?

What difference will having the GOV menu settings at 100% as opposed to 0%? In my thinking they are both at the extremes of the scale but will have the same affect?

no the speed is controlled by the %age - you need to set the range (8k, 11k, 14kor 17k ) in which the speed is being set via the revlock but after that the %age controls it within the range.

50% (servo in middle of range) is off (0% in Gov menu)

              trvo has the right idea

is there a servo movement bar chart on your TX to show what the channel is doing - its on the FF9 and FF10!! I find it very helpful.
