  • Spartan DS760 on a Beam - S9257?

I'd be grateful for any suggestions for a good tail servo to match with the Spartan DS760 on a Beam E4?

S9257 comes to mind, but any other alternatives I should consider?

Main use is still hovering and circuits, no 3D yet but I want to make sure that whatever I put on there will take me through to 3D, hence the 760 of course

Get yourself a JR 3500G for it, Excellent servo and priced very well.

Well I'm running a 9257 and it's very strong on the tail. So I would see no reason to deviate from this choice, but as Busterboy said the JR 3500G will probably be fine too.

There's a robbe FS61BB Servo as well which some people have used with success.

9257 or 3500G would be my 1.5/2.0D choice

This is what I have on mine, I run it with a GY401,which I think is a little weak for the h/s.

                          Thanks for the comments guys.

The 61BB does look appealing as it should fit the standard mount as well so no need to borrow any dinosaur parts

Are you running it OK on a regulated 6V from the ESC, or are you limiting it to 5V as I'm seeing mixed reports but I suspect it is just the usual confusion between a nominal 4.8V pack being safe so 6V regulated should also be OK.

I ran mine on my Jazz and now on a Scorpion 55A. Cant remember the BEC voltage off the top of my head but I think it was 5.1V

Yes, the 55A is listed as 5V.

Seems to be several of the 61BB models so I assume we are talking about the 8520 which is the fast one. This is rated at 4.8 - 6V so should be OK on the regulated 6V from the Scorpion but assuming I go that route I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it isn't getting to hot.
