Align Gyro combination

RCE600/DS520. I'm looking for a reasonable gyro, tail servo for my Twister Storm 3D. At the moment I'm only needing it to hold the tail in hover. Would it be better than the HL400. Could anyone give me a link to the manual?

Spartan?

Which Spartan Gyro are you talking about? What's the cheapest gyro that's usable for non 3D flying.

These are the 2 main spartan gyros available now http://www.spartan-rc.com/ i've also looked at changing out the standard storm 3d HL400 and most other low budget units are are mostly on a par with each other (i.e around the same performance) from £40 to £60..............if your doing 3d or not i think the 2 most used/liked gyros around are the gy401 or the spartan 650 , i have just bought a secondhand gy240 off one of the forum members which is more or less the same as the 401 minus a couple of functions etc plus the F/S3153 servo off of another member which should give me one or more steps in the right direction in the (hold that F/tail rock steady stakes...lol) .

Gy401 = £100 to £110 and the Spartan ds650 i've see for around £120 both are reported to be very good for the money though i think the Spartan is probably now edging in front with certain sports/3d pilots........though i'm being a cheap skate at the moment!!

There is only one Spartan gyro available still, they do have another cheaper cut down version planned but I think they have been a little caught out with the demand for the current one so have yet to get the second one in to production.

I'm using the DS520 servo on the tail of my 450Se V2, with a GY401, and I am (so far) very happy with this setup.

Have a look through the classifieds on the various forums - My (boxed and nearly new) GY401 was only £60...
