  • JR 8301 Servos

    Hi All

    Does anybody know if the JR8301 servos will work at 6V? - Had a good hunt around and cannot find any info

    I'm sure I have 8301's on my Knight and I'm running them on the Align 2 in 1 which is 5.8v I think with no problems so far.

      Aaaa well!!!! Working out which of the JR servos are "spec'ed" to 6v is easy when you know the secret.... ;-)

      Step 1.
      Download this JR catalogue....
      http://www.macgregor.co.uk/catalogs/servo_cat_2008.pdf

      Step 2.
      Any servo's that have a second set of torque/speed ratings in brackets are guaranteed for 6v operation.

      This doesn't mean others WON'T work at 6v. But in theory you will reduce their life span and JR won't honour the guarantee on the servo...

      So for example:
      The DS8301 isn't spec'ed to run at 6v, however the DS8425 is!

      Hope this helps, as I see the question asked a lot with regard to JR servo's!

          Step 2 is the secret Rob, I looked this morning trying to find an answer and also failed.
