    Quick question...

CSM 560 gyro... Are they any good?
Better than a 401 or harder to setup?
Are there any specific servo requirements to run it?

    Thanks
    Cheers, Lee.

I ran the big grey 560 with a 9254 on my raptor. It was good. Drift problems on rev3 software were cured with an upgrade to rev4 by CSM.

I did also try the 401 with 9254. The tail hold was more exact with the 401, with the 560 there was just a slight wander from side to side all the time. However the piro consistency was miles better with the 560 and it didn't let go through fast backwards sideways etc. When I tried the 401 though I wasn't up to doing that stuff.

Fine for forward flight and simple aerobatics. Let go quite quickly in fast backwards flight.

I don't agree - my 560/9254 on my raptor50 would hold through a tail slide with three rolls no problems, and rond a backwards loop immediately following...in fact it never let go on me. Just the tail hold is not as precise as the latest gyros so the tail is moving about an inch from side to side all the time no matter how well tuned you get the motor going.
In fact my 720/9254 on my knight is currently not much better - but the 720 /BLS251 on my 600n is totally nailed. when I get my CSM lead back from a friend I need to investigate what the difference in setup is or if it is just the servo.

I used to run the 560 and 9254 on my evo 50 before the 720 came out, it did very well, but not as well as the 720, hold was fine, but it did drift over time.

I would rate it better than a 401 where piro consistancy and stops where concerned, the 401 better in rock solid centre stick hold, ie no drift, but then again the 401 had an SMM sensor compared to the 560's.

moyesboy, thats interesting about the better performace with the BLS251.

yes but I'm not sure the internal settings are the same until i get my csm lead back - I think my friend fed it to his dog or something.
However I have got the front mounted servo kit for the knight in anticipation of not throwing oil all over a more expensive servo.

I think the v4 software is a lot better than the v3.

                  hi there
i use a 560 micro on my 450 v2 with no problems, BUT if you are using electric ,you are better using one with the v3 software as v4 is more directed to nitro
                  cheers
