  • Hitec 6965 servos

I'm trying some 6965's in my 600n. Fitting is straight forward but set up is not. I have the Align servo wheels but cant get them at center with mid stick. I have rotated the wheel on the spline and still cant find center. Surely this cant be right?

Also, when the servos stall it makes the gyro twitch like mad. Never used Hitec gear before.

    Any thoughts guys and gals?
    Pete

Hi-Tec servo`s have an even amount of splines on the output shaft, so it will not matter how you turn the arms round, if they don`t line up in 1 position, they wont line up in any.
JR and Futaba have an uneven number so it is much easier to get them close.

You will just have to use subtrim I`m afraid.

Or buy the servo programmer, for about £80

Theres no way I'm paying £80 for a programmer! To get them centred i'll need to use huge amounts of subtrim. Can this affect performance?

If you're not maxing the end points out to 150 then you probably won't have issues. You have 50 points to play with if the end points are at 100...

Could it be that the gyro is glitching because when the servos are stalled they are drawing a lot of current and the reg can't supply it so the voltage is dropping off?

                Adrian.
I dont think so Adrian is it happened when I had only one installed in the heli. Really odd behaviour. Glitching stopped as soon as I removed the servo lead from the Rx.

You might find you are getting interaction on the swash when you are at extremes of the controls.
I.e- Max pitch, then adding cyclic input.

You will have to try it and see what happens.

Like I say, you may only notice it at the extremes of the controls
