401 problems

Whilst flying the Mini T today, i lost left rudder control totally. It did not cause to much of a problem as it worked normal to the right and still functioned to prevent yaw.
after landing i unplugged the servo from the gyro and tested it straight from the rx, which showed the servo to be working fine, so i can only assume the gyro has failed?
It is only a month or two old but has been in a major crash.

Any one heard of this before?

Go back to basics first.

Check that your mechanical linkage is silky smooth, and that the natural centre of the servo is at 90 deg to the push rod and holds the heli straight in 'normal' mode.

If all this is ok and you still have the problem, then maybe yes, the gyro is bent.

All of the set-up and linkages seem fine so I must have killed the gyro.
Just when you get on top of the repair bills something else goes!
What a night mare.
Can these gyros be serviced or is it a throw away?

And does anyone have a 401 for sale?

if you go onto the ripmax web site and get the telephone number for there service centre at enfield they will be able to test it for you
if you can't find the number pm me and i have the number at work

before you send it back put another servo into the gyro and try it
then you'll know if the gyro works, but it may be worth a service if its been in a bad crash
