  • stepping voltage down for 401 and 9254

Im currently running 4.8 throughout the system via esc setup on trex 500.

Ive ordered a 2 in one spektrum regulator as nobody has the diode step down leads in stock.

Question is, do i fit this into rx then into gyro, or between gyro and servo.

Im experiencing erratic tail drifting, and think maybe the 4.8 is too low for the gyro, so increasing voltage might show an improvement.

What can i use the other channel for on my heli?!

    thanks, tom

i have mine between the servo and gyro on all mine, and have no probs what so ever.

Skyline has them in stock because I bought 3 last week

Between Gyro and servo in my case.

I have run my 500 on 4.8 volts with no tail problems Tom so don't expect any changes there.

I would be looking elsewhere sorting that problem out.

Skyline will post you one Tom probably cheaper than I can send it.

I'm not sure if I didnt see some on the shelf at Fastlads new store yesterday too choose what their website says.

Give them a ring but Skyline have them in stock so not a problem IMO..

I'd just run it on the higher voltage and save putting another weak link in the chain

                Align electronics-JUST SAY NO!!!!

Thats alright though until the servo burns out in mid flight, wouldn't chance it myself for a couple of quid.
I have never had any probs on any of my aligns for elecs, maybe i have been lucky, or others unlucky

I'm not gonna say it all again been there too many times already but I'd far rather run it at 5.3/5.5/5.8 or even straight 6v than put a 3" piece of Align junk with another break in the cable in between the battery and my tail

You don't say what servos or gyro you are running, but I can't think of anything that you would install on a t-rex 500 that will not run perfectly on 4.8 volts.

Most shops will obviously sell you what you ask for becuase that is thier business, but
what will you do if increasing the voltage on the tail servo to 5.5 volts still doesn't fix the problem?

EDIT: Sorry just read the title. The Gyro and servo is categorically designed to run without issue on 4.8 volts.

I totally agree, hence why I've been searching for a good JR tail servo for my 450.

Align electronics are good, very pleased with my 35X ESC. But it's the weak link I'm worried about.

Was going to go for the 3400G JR as it runs on 6V rated, but apparently discontinued now...

Why can't they understand people want 6V tail servos?

Skyline are very very good and i'd recommend them any day

Get used to ordering stuff and not even asking what the bill will be...

Skyline are one of the best IMO although not always the cheapest

I had to order a drop down as well for my 9256 servo on the vibe I have no wish to fry a 100 pound servo!
