401 Setup?

A few what may seem silly questions, but if you don't know ask is what I say.

My old system uses a Futabe Challanger TX (not computorised).

Am I correct in understanding that there is no way I could use a 401 gyro on my Heli with this setup? (thinking of upgrading bits)

Or could I get someone to set up the gyro with a more modern TX and then me use my Challanger afterwards?

Yes I know I should get a new radio sys, but this does OK (and I've got TWO! of them).

If I was to think of getting a new Radio sys eventually which one? I just like to cruse my heli (not throw it all over the sky).

I dont think there is anyway on a 401 of setting the level of gain without a compatible Tx.

my vote for a new system would be the 2.4 spektrum/jr system. but if your using 35mhz Rx's to be honest you only need something like a FF9 or similar and good examples of them are silly cheap at the moment.

if ya like Futaba stuff then dont count out the FF7 2.4ghz and its cheap as chips to buy ... and ya get a Rx with it as well and digi servos .. Or look for a combo with just Tx/Rx .. I love my FF7 2.4ghz and cant fault it ...
