  • Align RCE G600 governor help needed please

I've been messing about with a governor set up for a few weeks now trying to find one for my trex 600N.
I have the Align RCE G600 at present but it's causing a few issues with the rest of the set up so after a bit of advice please.
    I'm using a AR7200BX on the 600DFC along with a JR DSMx2.
The problem I had was that as a default the tx uses the gear switch for rate and HH modes on the gyro and gain is adjusted via the tx travel points.
I couldn't get the governor to work as a stand alone unit with on off assigned to the switch at first and after reading countless articles on various forums, came to the conclusion that it wasn't compatible.
The problem wasn't made any easier by the only port free on the BX unit was aux2 and I couldn't get a switch assigned to it so I could turn it on and off when I wanted.
While messing about tonight I have found that the battery was actually plugged in to port aux3 so I moved it to aux2 and assigned the aux3 switch to a switch on the tx, aux2 as only one I could.
I've plugged the RCE G600 back in and it now turns off as it should with the switch.
My question now is do I adjust the % on the travel adjustment like I do for the gyro gain to get the correct head speed for the heli? Looking down the chart that comes with it it says I'll need about 73% for an 1800 hs so my thinking is that if I reduce the end point that it is on when governor is activated (green light) down to 73% or near it will give me a correct head speed and if I need to adjust it faster, turn it up or slower turn it down with the end point for governor off going to 0.
Does anyone have any ideas or input with this as I'm head scratching and ordering parts, returning them, need them again and not really knowing if this set up will work as above suggestion.
On another note is anyone using the 7200 with the spectrum RPM sensor?

In answer to your question yes you can.
Its a shame you can't activate the governor function and assign to that channel then you would have 3 position which you could then switch with flight mode switch.

As you say you can't then I would just have governor ON or OFF and adjust the %to the headspeed you want when the governor is set to ON.

Does the governor go to off when you go to 0%?

If so then you are sending the percentage to the governor and therefore it should go to the desired headspeed when you adjust to the percentage % you want.

    What transmitter are you using?

I've got a DSMX2 so if I activate the governor function on the tx it then disables the gyro on it so can't do both, either governor or gyro gain.

I have assigned it to a 3 position switch so up is off, position 1 is on and 2 is on so can work for st1 and 2 and I think if I add mixes for those as in aux2+st1 and aux2+st2 with different values on the governor it will then give 2 different head speeds on the 2 idle up modes but that doesn't give me the governor function on normal mode.

As yet only doing the basics so not really a problem if I only set it up for normal and idle up 1 so I'll try and get it installed over the next day or so and see how it is but I will also try your 0% value before I instal it and see if it turns it off but I think it'll only be on/off by the switch but if it's on and the value is 0% then it'll effectively be off as no value other than throttle curve, if that makes sense.

I'm tempted to get the spectrum rpm sensor for the base plate and give that a go if this doesn't go to plan.
