  • KST servo

Ok folks just doing some browsing and have stumbled across KST servos.
They seem well liked and the grapevine has its usual array of they make for so and so.
Personally I haven't heard of them and a search on here shows no results.
But has anyone on here used them.....if so what do think.
    Cheers,
Paul (hiding from a very bad thunder storm )

    Hey

I've got a set of the 215's on my Warp 360 and they've been great. A year since I got them and bags of flights, the gears etc are still like new.

I'm using the HV brushless BLS815 cyclics and BLS805X tail servo in a couple of my 600/700 size helis and they have been faultless for ages. I put a set in my buddies Goblin 630 too and his have been fine too and stood up to a pretty heavy crash without damage. Very hard to beat bang for buck

I think one of the reasons that you dont see more of them is that they dont have much in the way of local dealer support. This is a double edged sword because it keeps the price down but it means that you usually have to order from overseas, which many are reluctant to do. KST servos are very popular in the US and get very positive reviews. I use the rebranded Turnigy version of the KST 215MG (TGY-306G-HV) on my OXY 3 and they have been faultless for 230 flights. I don't think you can go far wrong with KST micro servos, but I don't know what the bigger ones are like - I suspect they are probably good too.

I have some KST 215 and TGY 306G (almost the same). The gear sets do have a little slack in them, I think more than the equivalent MKS, but it's not really noticeable in flight. They also have slightly better specs than both the MKS HV93 but I haven't tested them head-to-head.

SAB switched to KST with the Goblin 500 sport, and I guess they figured why pay more for a perfectly good servo?
