  • Futaba BLS251 correct voltage

    Hi

iIhave recently purchased a BLS251 servo, at present the supply to my Heli is by 6.6 LiFe battery.i have read many discussion on what voltage to run these servos at.

The general opinion appears to be to drop the normal 6v supply down with a voltage reducer this however will only reduce mine down to 5.8v do i install two in series or is there another option? any advice welcome.

Hi DudeIn my experience using a IN4001 diode will drop the voltage by 0.7 volts so if you use 2 x IN4001 diodes that will drop the voltage by 1.4 volts. This will take the voltage from a LiFe battery 6.6 volts to 5.2 volts. the BLS 251 is rated at 4.8 volts and I would be happy to run at 5.2 volts. What does everyone else think??Ah now something to consider!!if you have 6.6 volts as an open circuit voltage that is still 6.6 volts on line, so would the diodes still drop the voltage at an open circuit? MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM need to try this!!
