  • NX4 Servos

    hi

what would you recommend for a Gaui nx4 on the cyclic servo side, currently have DS510 - but thinking of upgrading as they are plastic gears. all was ok with these until a brown out over the weekend, all gears stripped... ok they are cheap to replace, but I'd like your thoughts.

    thanks

Depends on how much you're willing to spend, there is a lot of choices

Personaly I would stick with the 510's. When you crash something has to give and cheap plastic gears are a great and cheap place to have a weak link. Unless you are a smack 3d god I think it's unlikely you
would see much improvement with metal gears (which seem to break anyway and cost a bomb. My futaba 351 gears were an eye watering £33 to replace per servo). The DS510's are a very good servo, I would stick with them and spend your money on fuel and fly more!

        What is your budget?

Cheap then go for Align 515M, more £££ to spend then look at MKS or BK servos.
        Happy Flying! Thanks - Dave

Unless the NX4 is your favourite helicopter and you want to fly it almost constantly, I'd go with the DS515Ms from Align.
You know you'll always be able to get spares that way, and they're plenty strong and fast.

Otherwise, go buy some nice MKS HV9767s for about £70 each.

Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Futaba BLS153 is what I'd go with. Using these on my Goblin 500 and they are superb. There's someone on eBay doing them for £25 each at present.

I had some 515m on mine and found the gears soft even a small tip would take a tooth out.
I found a good deal on some of thesehttp://www.hawk-creation.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=72_149&product_id=3497
I tan 515mm blades on these and made the heli feel more crop. Also heard good things about the kst 515m

Unless you are going to throw it around really hard with a high head speed I would probably stick with what you have got. The gears won't strip if you don't crash. Hopefully the brown-out problem has been resolved.

KSTs, good shout. I'd forgotten about those. They're now my recommendation.
