i take it the new usb link is just a more robust version of the old one? no difference in functionality?

Bluetooth is a nice idea though. Any idea on the programming card?

Ill settle for a prototype programming card (the one on the webb site with no box) as i have 2 spartans and am going to get a third in a couple of weeks if i can find out whos got them all....

Does the software work on a smart fone if so the bluteeth thingy will be good cause you can use yr fone instead lugging a lap top to a field on the weekend...

jamie, the new usb will work the same as the old one, just a fresher design.

the bluetooth will work with pda, pc laptops and compatible mobile phones that have windows mobile.

the config card i'm not 100% sure on but i will ask the question certainly.

        cheers

The Bluetooth was never intended for changing settings in flight. Only for setting things up conveniently at the field without having to carry a laptop (if you have one to carry!).

We have extensively used Bluetooth for telemetry to see how the gyro is performing... plot piro speed, tail servo position etc. Even with class 1 the reliable telemetry range is limited but still good enough to get some very useful data. If the link drops out there is no danger of loosing control of the tail. The gyro just continues to work without it, as it normally would. The telemetry is not currently available in the public release of the PC software. One day it may be; I have not yet decided.

Can the adaptive capabilities of this gyro enable it to flag up a servo that is losing performance, or other machanical problems?
ie, can it realise that something is wrong compared to last time it flew?

                        moyesboy,
the adaptive feature allows the gyro to slightly deviate from the default settings which allows it to cope with variations between different helis for a Gaui 200 to a 90 Nitro or even gasser without the user having to tweak complex tuning parameters. The gyro can only see the overall behavior of the machine. There is no way to determine if something has changed in the servo behavior, or the linkages got looser, or the tail bearings are stiff, or the rotor bogged down... etc.

Hi Angelos If you come up with any other electronic goodies in the future will the Bluetooth adapter be compatable with those too or just tied to the Gyro's?

                          thanks Brian

Hi Brian, the Flash-Link (USB), Blue-Link (Bluetooth) and configuration card are intended for any products we make in the future than have a need for them.

Steve, sorry can't sell the prototype. We build it so we can develop the product. In fact that prototype hardware won't do much good without the finished firmware.
