    TGY306G-HV servo

    I have just replaced the gears on one of these servo's but now it gets very hot when in operation? It does work and hold well, just the temp is an issue for me especially when the other collective servo's are cool to the touch! I have taken it completely apart and can see no problem with it. I'm tempted just to buy another, its just annoying to buy the gears and then have to buy another servo anyway and as its in the mini Goblin I wouldnt want a misshap that wasnt my fault to happen because of this servo. Any ideas on what it could be or should i just bin it and save the gears for another time? Many Thanks, Ian.

    When did they start selling gears for these? The never used to they were throwaway jobs

        At £15 a servo I would just bin it and get another. I think they are great little servos for the money and I consider them disposable at that price. Isn't the MKS gear set about £10 anyway?

            I tried to fit mks 95 gears but the machining on the servo lids were different and the lid would not fit. Maybe that's why yours is running hot it may be binding ?

              I took the lid off and the cogs move fine, lid fits ok, others across the pond have fitted hv93 gears with no issues............I've ordered another now from hk and will run tests on the suspect one, not worth risking the G380 on a £15 servo, just annoying its seems to overheat!

                Yeah, looks like £9.45 and then with postage it would be prob £11.00, so only a few pounds less than a new one.

                I just bought three TGY306Gs a few weeks ago and they came out at about £16.00 each including postage (total was $74.39USD)

                  Lynx Heli do the Gear sets for them. You prob not got the pot lined up and the shaft sitting proud and binding it up.
