Sorted; ATGV3 not working?

I'm in the process of setting up my first ATGV3 and whilst I know I have a damaged sensor (I've just snapped one of the leads off ttrying to do an electrical check on the sires...doh), I'm not sure whether the ATGV3 is also broken.


My Savox 2275 works fine when plugged directly into my Bavarian Demon 3SX, but does not move at all when plugged into my ATGV3 (I have set the transmitter low & high points, and had got to the stage of testing the sensor but could not get a red indicator light even when passing a magnet over the sensor with it removed from the airframe).


My questions;
Should the throttle servo move when the engine is not running? Or does the ATGV3 not send a signal to the servo if the sensor is not detecting the engine running?

One thing I think I can say without reservation is that any governor must allow the servo to move even if the engine is not running because you need to be able to move the throttle when starting the engine (plus the default should be that the signal passes through in the event of a sensor failure). Sooooo, if the servo does not move at all then it's either some kind of setting in the ATG (like if you had a 760us servo and the ATG is set to 1520us). Or.... the ATG has just bit the dust.

Thats what I thought.

I'm going to try a full re-set and go through setting the end points to see if it does or does not work before I order a new sensor; I'm also doing the set-up without a G-View, but I don't think it makes any difference.

On checking the ATG connections I had a "you idiot" moment (not to be confused with a eureka moment & those are not the words that I actually muttered to myself).

I had plugged the servo into the sense port. With the servo plugged in correctly it works fine. Just need a new sensor to replace the one I broke whilst trying to test it..........
