  • My Revlock 6 seconds lagg

My revlock 10 in auto decents is horrible.
I have been practicing autos & I have to bail out at 30 feet because my revlocks not playing ball.
It takes a full 6 seconds to get the head back up to speed.
I would love to do a proper full auto but will not do one untill this is sorted & I feel confident that at 10 foot or less the engine will work & be at full speed in a split second. Bar chucking the revlock out & getting another Gov what can I do to sort this problem?

Just an idea, but if you have the csm lead you can change the min throttle point. I did this today on mine, upped it from 15% to 25% and it has made a major improvement in the pick up after a quick desent. Not sure if it will cure your prob but worth a go.

You can't program the Revlock 10, only the 20 (and 30).

I practice autos in normal flight mode (i.e. the I use for starting the heli) with the governor disengaged. Do the decent at full bottom stick so the engine is on tickover all the way down, flair out at the bottom using the cyclic only and then bring the throttle/pitch back up when I'm ready.

How well does it rev up with the governor disabled?
It could be a engine tuning problem.
My revlock 20 revs up pretty fast and doesn't suffer this problem. Is on default settings so should be behaving exactly like a revlock 10.

I think the revlocks gone tits up as even in flips the head speed rises at the end. it works but not correctly, it never did since day one.
Think I will get shot of it & get a GV1.
I've not tried autos with it dissabled.

ive always used revlock 10's and they have always worked faultlessly. they never overspeed, and they certainly dont do what yours does. try sending it back to CSM for them to check. Or for one last try, re-set it and start the setup from scratch, just to rule out a dodgy setup. i.e. make sure the linkage is at 90 degrees, make sure it is the same length out from the centre as the horn, then run through the basic setup again.

The setup should be ok Ade did it at DMHC back at the christmass do.
The servo is a 3001 maybe it's not upto the job?
It's the only servo I've used on it so maybe it is that.
What happens in the flip is the head loads & the revlock does a fair job of keeping the head speed but as the disc unloads the revlock is unable to stop the over speeding.

you may find the servo could be failing, although i doubt it cos i dont think you put much fuel through it have you? Stef had the same servo and gov in his old raptor 50 and after a while the servo keeled over as the gov will work it hard. Are you using the remote mode switch to have 2 headspeeds? If so you could try adjusting the pot on it as it acts as a gain control when the remote lead is active.

from what I've read, not personal experience - the gv-1 is well long in the tooth in design and the revlock 10 should be much better.
CSM will do a service turnround inside a week unless they are on holiday. check by phone first. They may also have a suggestion about what to try to fix it. One big advantage of a UK manufactured product.

I used to have that same symptom - the problem was not the governor, but my thumb being too eager to bang in too much negative pitch through the inverted part of the flip. It was me who was overloading the head.

Collective pitch management is a delicate art, even with a governor, one which I have far from managed to conquer yet.

They've had my SL560 gyro now for 2 weeks now for a software upgrade and they've not rang me yet for payment details. I know they've got it because I emailed them for confirmation.

I sold my GV1 to get a Revlock 20. Although the GV1 did work well, it was overpriced and not particually simple to set up.
