  • iKON Brain & DX9 Gyro Gain Questions....

    Hi Guys,
I have an iKON Brain on my Trex500 and have been out at the field all day trying to get the Gyro setup. It seems that no matter how high I set the gyro gain (I've had it at 90%) I'm not getting any tail wag. According to various sources I should raise the gain until it starts wagging. The maneuvers I'm doing are full throttle pitch pumps and high bank turns, I do manage to get a little tail wag in the high bank turns but not a great deal. Is this normal or even safe for the gain to be so high?, I'm now thinking that maybe I have the gain setup wrong on my DX9 or something?. If anyone can guide me through setting up the gyro gain on the DX9 then that would at least tell me if I have managed to have a brain fart in my own settings.

This is now starting to drive me crazy so any feedback would be most welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Sam

If you set the gain in the DX9 to a lower value say 50% does the gain seem to reduce ie does the tail become very loose?
this will check if you have the basic config correct ie the correct channel assigned to the tail gain.

Don't get too hung up on the actual value this is affected by many factors, servo speed, distance of ball from arm centre, head speed, tail blade size, etc etc.

Never thought of that, I'll try this tomorrow

Try 3 different values in the gyro switch on your transmitter and hook it up to computer on first menu , transmitter values flick the switch an this should change the gain in the box unless you have it set in software which is why it's showing no change when flying , if you have it assigned correctly 57 in the transmitter will give you the 45 value start point you need in the software which shouldn't need much more adjustments
